STEPS TO FOLLOW –
- Power on the mixer: Locate the power switch at the back of the X32 console and turn it on. The mixer will boot up, and the LCD screen will display the default home screen.
- Check input levels: Confirm that all microphones, instruments, or other audio sources are connected to the appropriate input channels on the back of the X32. Check that all input sources are set to the appropriate level using the gain knobs located above each input channel, aiming for a level of around -10 on the channel fader.
- Check main LR volume: Ensure that the main LR volume fader is not all the way down, and is set to an appropriate level for the size of the room and the desired volume level.
- Check stage monitors: Verify that the stage monitors are raised to an appropriate level, around -20 on the monitor fader, to allow the performers to hear themselves clearly.
- Confirm subgroups and auxiliary sends are not in use: Make sure that no subgroups or auxiliary sends have been set up. These features are typically only used by experienced sound engineers.
- Check EQ and dynamics processing: Verify that the onboard EQ and dynamics processing have not been adjusted. These settings are typically only adjusted by experienced sound engineers.
- Confirm effects are not in use: Make sure that no effects have been set up. Effects processing is typically only used by experienced sound engineers.
- Check individual channel levels: Verify that each channel fader is set to an appropriate level and that no channels are muted.
- Check for feedback: Listen for any feedback or unwanted noise and make adjustments as needed. Adjust the gain or EQ of individual channels to eliminate feedback or other unwanted noise.
- Save your settings: Once you have checked the settings, save them to a preset on the X32. This will allow you to recall your settings quickly and easily in the future.
